A young driver whose lack of respect for other road users was demonstrated through his mobile phone footage has been jailed.<br/><br/>Brandon South, 22, has been put behind bars for causing the death of 43-year-old Robert Chessman by dangerous driving.<br/><br/>On Friday 7 January 2022, South was driving his Skoda Fabia along Haugh Road in Rotherham, in excess of the 40mph speed limit, when he left the carriageway and collided with Mr Chessman.<br/><br/>Footage obtained during the investigation shows South driving along Haugh Road at an average of 74mph when he lost control of the vehicle.<br/><br/>Further footage was obtained which shows South recording himself speeding and drifting his vehicle on the public roads on numerous occasions.

_yorkshire-crime-watch-moment-car-smashed-into-cyclist-in-york-as-victim-suffered-serious-injuries.webp "NYP: We are renewing our appeal for witnesses and information in relation to a collision which happened in York.<br/>At 6.45am on Thursday 07 December 2023 a car collided with a bike on the A19 at the junction with Water Lane.<br/>The car stopped momentarily before driving off up Water Lane. Members of the public who were in the area at the time of the collision have described the car as being a small blue car.<br/>Footage from a CCTV camera shows the sequence of events.
