Description: From 1948 until 1960 about 1,800 people from about 30 nationalities worked three shifts a day, seven days a week, to build Warragamba Dam. It was a major engineering feat of the mid 20th Century. Workers removed more than 2,300,000 tonnes of sandstone from the site.
